Can't reproduce this either on KDE. The wait cursor is the standard XC_watch,
which is defined on X11/cursorfont.h:

#define XC_watch 150

This is what we use to change cursors, doesn't much matter whether it's kde or
gnome. Maybe your system is missing cursors, or there's something different
with your X?
