Bill,

You have not yet shown a SIGILL.
Your first problem you can safely ignore, it printed "mcs: Command not found",
which is default behavior when compiling for the first time (when mcs is not in
the PATH).
As for the second part, so far it sounds different from what we saw; in that
case please file a separate bug and close this one.

Try running make check to see if any tests fail on your target. You could also
try turning off sigaltstack.
