So my issue with this is that if these things had Category attributes applied,
they would show up in the class status pages as missing, but they don't.  So I
think it is using some other mechanism to do this.

We have our own MWFCategory attribute that we have used to accomplish this in
the past, but this isn't the way MS does it of course.  (And we've never really
applied it for more than Control.)

cc'ing Ivan to see if he knows anything about how MS handles this.
