If the property value is initially null, it is not possible to enter a value. 
It is however possible to edit an existing value.

(Repro code from bug 362112).  See two Uri properties, note that the value of
the initialised one can be editted, but any value entered into the empty one is
ignore.  Similarly with the SelectionRange properties.
