You're right. Adding "MonoSetEnv LANG=en_US.UTF-8" to mod_mono.conf solved the
issue.

Interestingly, using "MonoSetEnv LANG=en_US.iso88591" (or en_US.ISO-8859-1)
leads to encoding problems. Is this expected behavior?
