Rolf, do you mind trying to get a repro with these 2 env vars set:
G_SLICE=always-malloc
MALLOC_CHECK_=1


Using MALLOC_CHECK_=3 might be useful as well if you can get the crash more
easily.



Can you try running under valgrind with G_SLICE=always-malloc as well? This
will make malloc issues more evident.

Or you can post some instructions on how to reproduce the scenario about those
crashes.
