It work fine here, so it must be something specific to that game you are
testing. 

Check the test case I will attach. It's an empty form which when you run and
type characters will print them to console. When I run it the form is focus and
has the input focus as well so when I hit a key it's printer to console.

I don't think there is much we can do without a small test case to reproduce
the issue.
