You can download and re-distrubte Oracle Instant Client for free from Oracle
Technology Network (registration is free too).  The oracle instant client is
much easier to install than the normal oracle client.

The test case works for me above.  I created the table in sqlsharp.  I ran the
test case - ran okay.  I did a select from the table, and I got the following:

SQL# select * from testblob

SQL# \e
Display the result set 1

ID                            DATA                             
============================= ================================ 

                            1 0x0123456789                     

Rows retrieved: 1

In conclusion, setting bug works for me.  The user may have been using an older
version of mono which did have the bug.
