patch snapshot eglib/

NOT suited for inclusion in SVN yet:

- contains ugly workaround for passing the glib tests (running against itself
due to lack of a ppc64 glib)

- unsure what to do about iconv (signatures differ)

- unsure about g_get_home_dir / getpwent_r

- contains possible fixes for:
