The patch is a rewrite with some fixes of the ideas in bug #315999.
It will also run your test repeatedly, though the stack trace is not printed:
does that really happen on the MS runtime?
I ran a few tests and it seems to work ok: do you mind running your sw and see
if any issues show up? I'll commit the code in a day or so.
