I just tested this on openSUSE 10.2 x86_64 with Mono 1.2.6p1 and it runs at
normal speed. 

This may be related virtualization. I talked with the Xen guys, and apparently
10.3 didn't get tested much running on a SLED 10 SP1 Dom0. Any slow down may
have seriously affected winforms, even if the rest of the OS seems to operate
at an "ok" speed.

Marc is going to try SharpChess on openSUSE 10.3 with Mono 1.2.6p1 running on
native hardware to see if SharpChess still has this slowness.
