hmm... something changed in the last 10 months because the last sample (Image)
now works, without changes, in SVN HEAD. 

However it still didn't work for Bitmap (fixed in SVN r88972) like you found
out (but curiously wasn't the test case ;-) Anyway if you have a better unit
test (than the ones in r88973) please commit it. Thanks!
