+MONO_DISABLE_SHM was a great feature of io-layer. It limited a lot of 
+features but was possible to run applications without creating a .wapi 
+directory that helps avoid letting behind junk.
+
+Currently it is unsupported (is not used by the runtime at all).
+
+I would like to ask you to reimplement this feature because I believe 
+that there are scenarios when avoiding .wapi directory is more important 
+than having full io-layer functionality.
