+The last two patches update the original draft patch:
+- argument order for some ppc64 macros was fixed (e.g. ppc_std)
+- some simplifications and macros suggested by Paolo were 
+introduced, reducing the number of #ifdefs
+
+Nothing has improved result-wise on first sight.
