+This is actually not a problem in PropertyGrid, but a bug in 
+TypeDescriptor since it always assumes a component's site has a 
+ITypeDescriptorFilterService.

+I'll add a small code snippet which demonstrates the problem, and 
+I'll provide a patch which fixed the issue.

+I'll hold off on committing the patch until I've had time to create 
+unit tests that cover the fix (but this should be easy).
