Reproducing is trivial:
/autogen w/o configure
cd ../amd64/mono
./../mono/configure w/ --with-gc=included (and CC="gcc -m64" etc.)
gmake
gmake install => fails.
http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:Solaris

System is Solaris 10 8/07 64-bit w/ updates:
SunOS sonnengoettin 5.10 Generic_127112-05 i86pc i386 i86pc

autoconf is 2.59,
automake 1.8.3 (both from Companion CD),
make 3.80 (pre-installed?)

It could well be a bug somewhere else but any hint would be appreciated.
