Summary: Waaayyyy to many serious compilation warnings

Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you
are doing.
Description of Problem:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. install mono-1.2.3.1 from source
2.
3.

Actual Results:
It seems to work fine, but this is very sloppy code. During compilation
there are way to many compilation warnings to list. Most are reasonably
scare like "comparing pointers to different types lacks cast" . Come on,
how much extra work can it be to cast to the correct type. Aren't there
quality controls such as removing serious compilation warnings before a
package is published. The mono project seems to be quite worthy of alot of
respect and a massive undertaking. I am however very disappointed by the
lack of quality control.

Expected Results:

How often does this happen?
