+eglib does not yet support Mac OS X.

+glib 2.6.6 can be used for the ppc and i386 architectures (but higher versions break). Neither 2.6.x 
+nor the latest versions (e.g. 2.12.11) build for the ppc64 architecture. In either case compiling leads 
+to various unresolved glib-internal symbols that I was not able to track down.
