+I found this by trying to compile libgdiplus on mac using my own copy of
+freetype2.  I also noticed that cairo needs fontconfig.  (On the Mac, and
+probably most places, freetype2 and fontconfig were in the same dir.  Thus,
+the extra argument of fontconfig to pkg-config isn't normally needed).
