-Summary: SIGSEGV during class initialization
+Summary: Typeload vs FileNotFound exceptions
Description of Problem:
If an assembly fails to load during class initialization the runtime tries
to deference a null pointer (object.c line 987). This causes the runtime to
crash.

MS does not even throw a TypeLoadException since that class is never
actually used.
If you'd, for example, create an instance of a type for which the
assembly cannot be found, then a FileNotFoundException would be
thrown at runtime.

+------- Additional Comments From lupus at ximian.com 2006-12-15 05:04 -------
+Downgrading to whishlist: the actual exception type is largely
+irrelevant in such cases and it depends on many internal
+implementation factors that users should not depend on.
