+I did not do an update but a local build and installation of mono
+(with mcs) and libgdiplus into a customized path and started the app with

+I also tested installing cairo 1.0.4 and cairo 1.2.2 into
+/mypath/mono/head/ which both made no difference (on the system (SuSE
+10.1) cairo 1.0.2 is installed).
