 I can not reproduce the problem with the exact same code under Gentoo
 32bit so it leads me to believe that its a 64bit issue.

+It's not a blocker, though. I'll look into it. I'll look at 32/64 bit 
+size issues in XAtoms. It would help if you had a sample app that
