 Since the 1.1.4 windows installer doesn't contain mint, you probably
 used an earlier version, which means using an earlier version of gtk#
 etc. So this is more likely a gtk# problem.

+you're right. The 1.1.4 installer doesn't contain mint. With mono it
+crashes the same ways as mono from 1.0.6. The only way to get it
+started is the use of mint from 1.1.6.
+Sounds like a JIT problem for me, but I can only guess.
