+yes. I installed it into the same prefix that I installed mono into,
+/opt/mono-current .

+I noticed that when I do 'make install', it fails in  testgdi because
+it is attempting to use the 32-bit version of /usr/lib/libXrender.so
+(this is on an AMD64 SLES9 machine) and gcc gives the error "cannot
+read symbols: Invalid operation".

+Perhaps mono's error reporting is complaining about the same thing,
+but in a more confusing way?
