 Signcode doesn't freeze when commenting the code that writes to the
 file. So this seems very similar to the issue Dick talked about.

+Am marking needinfo as there has been no response for quite a while.
+If it is some other issue, we'd need a stack trace from a debugger, etc.

+Also, quite a few hangs have been found and fixed since 1.0.x.
