 I may have it.  I found I had a very old version of mono installed in
 /usr/bin, which came with SUSE.  This was being used during
 compliation, rather than the new mono.  Hence the error.  Suggest it
 may well be worth calling new mono with full path during compilation?

+Call *mcs* (shell script) with full path instead of mono (to use
+consistent mscorlib.dll with mcs.exe).
