pinpoints the failure.
------- Additional Comments From latexer@gentoo.org 2004-06-30 22:46 -------
Further testing shows that doing --with-gc=boehm *doesn't* fix things.
I can check if it would help, but i imagine that beta1 using
--with-gc=boehm would still work.

+------- Additional Comments From chayen@ccbcmd.edu 2004-07-02 11:48 -------
+I am having this same problem but with mono 1.0. if i change
+/usr/bin/muine to
+
+#!/bin/sh
+export GC_DONT_GC=1
+/usr/bin/mono /usr/lib/muine/muine.exe "$@"
+
+i don't have any problems.
+
+in the following errors run with mono --debug
+this happens when i import my whole music collection which is 2.2
+gigs. sometimes i get this error on the console:
+
+
+Sem_wait returned -1
+sem_wait for handler failed
+
+sometimes i get nothing, and sometimes i get a seg fault and sometimes
+it locks X. it seems to lock X more often when it freezes while i'm
+using the menu. i also get ** (muine:9461): CRITICAL **: : The handle
+daemon vanished!
+
+not sure if i'm crossing mono bugs and muine bugs here.
+
+
+the Sem Wait Errors i'm able to reproduce by attaching to the muine
+process started with mono --debug and typing run and restarting the app.
