a linux system or is it on windows?

Hi Paolo!

Yes I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and the problem reproduced in my Athlon
XP 1.7 too. But a colleague of mine suggested maybe I don't have
enough memory and the process is brought down by the memory manager
(maybe). I didn't have time to verify this yet, tonight I will do it.
I have 256 MB of RAM and a 256 MB swap. Initially I thought this was
ok for this test because under Windows the memory consumption rarely
passes 10 MB. As Dietmar stated, the memory consumption is actually
very high under Linux, is there some way to improve the garbage
collector response so that it collects more often?

Thank you a lot for the attention.
Best regards,
Cesar
