How old is the site? Very old sites that make heavy use of ASP.NET WebForms
viewstate may not work too well, but older MVC sites should be fine
depending on which third-party libraries you're also using.

My personal site / blog runs on MVC 4. I develop on Windows using Visual
Studio and deploy to a Debian Linux VM when I start build anything major. I
test out new libraries early on before I really start using them too
deeply, to ensure they run well on Mono.
