[Gtk-sharp-list] State of GTK-Sharp 3, especially regarding Windows

Dear developers,
I searched around in several mailing list archives and blogs, but I
could not find a definitive answer to my question. I read that gtk-sharp
3 is in the pipeline, and that there is somebody actively working on it,
in part also triggered by the Banshee developers.
I am developing cross-platform applications using Gtk-Sharp. In that
regard, I have some questions, maybe the right people read this so that
they can answer.

On Linux-based platforms, everything is working in gtk-sharp 2 for me
now, but on Windows, the installer from
http://ftp.novell.com/pub/mono/gtk-sharp/gtk-sharp-2.12.10.win32.msi
(linked on http://monodevelop.com/Download ) seems to be fairly old. Is
anybody working on a new version of the installer, or is it dead? I
found a bug report regarding this, but no comments about any progress at
http://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=918 . The problems I have
with this installer are:
#1 The installer contains Mono.Cairo 2.0.0.0, on Linux systems I use
4.0.0.0 which has a different API.
#2 Some new features in gtk versions newer than 2.12.10 would be very
nice to use
#3 I do some chart drawing in cairo, and this can become really slow on
Windows, because there is no hardware acceleration. Is there any
hardware acceleration on newer gtk2 or gtk3 versions on windows instead
of using the gtk-sharp installer? I do not intend to use Gtk directly
for now, but if the acceleration is already available, a newer gtk-sharp
2 installer for windows would solve this problem.

Thanks for any information,
Wolfgang.
