[Gtk-sharp-list] Transparent window

Hello all,

Is there another way to set window transparent (OSD like) without use Cairo?
I dont know why, but i've try some samples, and dont work on my
machine (my video card is a ati and dont support composite).
I want this for a project, to run in LTSP terminals, so maybe (correct
me if i'm wrong) this cool cairo things dont works in ltsp.

Someone can give me some light?
