The problem with that is that the expander literally _expands_ and the
whole window grows. The drop down/combobox control in MS .Net opens and
displays a calendar and none of the other controls/widgets are affected
or moved around.

I too am looking for a drop down calendar widget/control. When I tried
the expander, with a calendar, well... it was not what I was expecting.
The whole window grew and when I collapsed the expander, the windows
stayed large.

Are there any solutions for a drop down calendar with Gtk# similar to
the one in MS .Net? Specifically where the drop down displays the
calendar above other controls without messing up/expanding the contents
of the whole window to just display the calendar.
