[Gtk-sharp-list] why is Widget.Draw() method deprecated?

I notice that the Widget.Draw(...) method is deprecated.  I know that it is
usually better to call QueueDrawArea() for performance reasons, but in those
special cases where it is necessary to draw *immediately*, what is the
proper way to do so?  Is there an alternative to the deprecated Draw()
method?
