[Gtk-sharp-list] LoadFromPixbuf problem

I know I'm doing something wrong but I ran out of ideas, so maybe 
someone made that mistake before and could help me now.
I get the "Unrecognized image file format" GException on:

Gdk.Pixbuf.LoadFromResource("/Icons/48x48/icon.png");

That only happens on Windows. The same project on linux runs fine.
The file is obviously fine, all references are the same.
On Windows I have the Gtk+ 2.8.8 package, on Linux it's whatever the 
current stuff in Dapper is.
