Yes, I did without problems.

I was running Mandrake 10.0 Community Edition at the time. With an
ancient version of Mono (6-9 months ago), so I do not expect you will
run into problems with what you have.

Maybe you could start your app from gnome-terminal and populate the
code with System.Console.WriteLine's.
