[Gtk-sharp-list] Styles . gtk. on kde?

I am trying everyhting to get a custom style
on a mono/gtk# app,
and no matter what i do it doesn't work ...
so i went to some apps that are on my os that have gtkrc files,
like gimp and dia,
i altered their gtkrc files, put in an error to make sure they were being
read, and they were,
then put in a  widget color change that i applied to "*"
and i still get nothing,
so i am thinking,

gtk doesnt use styles when running on a KDE desktop?
i am grasping at straws here, because basically i just dont seem to
be able to get any customization of color in amy GTK widget.
