Because I need to stick to a version that is widely supported by binary
packages for the bound libraries.  I don't have the luxury of a stable
release yet for people to develop against while I target the bleeding
edge. People are already using Gtk# for real commercial development,
even though we haven't frozen the API yet.

After June, things get a lot more flexible.
