Personally, I'd rather people just inlined the code you submitted until we target Gtk+2.2 - if we start adding custom methods/properties to Gtk# that do the same as methods/properties in Gtk+ 2.2, it might make the transition from targetting Gtk+ 2.0 -> 2.2 much more difficult...

It seems like a bit of a hack for a feature that is already available in
a newer version of Gtk+.
