Yes, this is pretty outdated. For a more recent version of what
gnome-print is:

http://primates.ximian.com/~chema/gnome-print-ols.txt

Is more of a status update, but does go into defining gnome-print. For
simple code examples (in C) you can find them inside
libgnomeprintui/examples.
