Well, the RPM is a little hard to install.  (I wasn't able to install
it on Mandrake.)

(IMO, when making RPMs for system libraries, like Gtk#, you really
need to make it per distribution.  And per version of that 
distribution.)

Try installing it from the source code.  You might have more success.

Make sure you have the development libraries for those things
you listed.

Well, you definitely need the GNOME 2 stuff.  But, in
particular, make sure you have the development libraries.
