No it is not bound to the heirarchy that it created for you, is there
any reason you are keeping it around after using it to create the
hierarchy and hook up your signals ?
I recommend you get rid of the GladeXML after its initial use, its
quite beefy in terms of memory usage and unneeded after the initial
parse.
